Be sure to check your Verizon Account!
Verizon confirmed earlier this week the personal data of 6 million customers has leaked online. Oops.
ZDLink reports “These customer records were contained in log files from Verizon customers service calls during the last six months. Each record included the customer’s name, their cell phone number, and account PIN.”
The data breach could potentially affect 14 million Accounts and was discovered on a Cloud Server that was incorrectly set up with security protocols. The Verizon data exposed allowed for PIN codes on Verizon Accounts to be temporarily visible to anyone on the cloud server account who had the public link.
So, be cautious and monitor your Verizon account and change your PIN in order to avoid any risk of a breach to your account.
