ALL POINTS BULLETIN: Be on the Lookout for Erroneous or Missing Bills!

In the past 2 weeks, one of the major carriers has launched some “enhancements” to its billing website and reports.

Enhancement is an interesting name for it.

Much like when carriers use the term “risk mitigation” (where i come from, we call that something else), enhancement is a bit of a misnomer and is yet to be realized.

Data reports have been non-existent, not working properly or have been corrupted.

For those Bill Police clients, you are already aware of the issues and, no worries, we are protecting your rights.

For those of you who are NOT Bill Police clients, if have any questions about your bills or what carrier this is, please contact us. If you have discovered any major issues, please report them below and we can try to follow-up on your behalf.

Additionally, we are working to get credits for any erroneous charges as well as charges that would have been offset had the bills been accessible. This could be significant Cost Avoidance dollars for you.

Verizon announces International Alerts

Bill Police is still protecting and serving!

We are letting you know that, similar to other carriers, Verizon will now provide alerts on high international usage and costs.

Below is the release sent to Business Customers:

Dear Verizon business customer,

When your business needs to travel internationally, we want to help you control your global roaming expenses. That’s why we’re excited to announce two new enhancements that will make it easier to effectively manage global data usage.

1) Beginning June 19, 2013, text alerts are now sent to your wireless subscribers travelling internationally when their global data usage exceeds certain thresholds based on their plan. These alerts will help notify them of possible unexpected charges.

Customers who are travelling internationally without a global data plan will receive a text alert shortly after their initial global data usage begins. At that point, they may be able to change to a global plan to avoid costly data charges.

2) On July 8, 2013, when a subscriber is travelling internationally and reaches $1,000 in unbilled data usage, we will block all data services to avoid unwanted charges. Before this occurs, customers will receive text notifications of data overages and warning of the potential of blocked services.

Authorized points of contact on the account can request removal of the block.

Note: this block will not affect global voice and messaging services.

If you would like assistance updating your account or if you prefer to exempt your end-users from having their accounts blocked, contact us at wfmGlobalApproval@VerizonWireless.com and include your account number. Note: If the block is removed, users will continue to receive text alerts and may incur high global data charges.
